We read earlier this week of an interview with Tom Platz where he mentions he may come back out of retirement.
If this is true, should Tom at 53 years of age even make the effort to come back? I say why in the hell not? If Markus Ruhl and Ronnie Coleman are coming out of retirement - why shouldn't Tom? Hell - May as well throw Dorian in the mix too!
Here is the quoted comment:
Q: You retired from pro bodybuilding competitions in 1987 but did a
'Comeback' in 1995 and you were awarded Honorary Mr. America. Any plans
for making another comeback?
A: Yes actually I am. I've actually been thinking about this for two
years now, but next year 2009, I'm seriously considering making a
comeback. It's not something that just happens in your mind, it's more
than that. I still have that same passion as I did when I was nine.
When I saw the most recent Rocky film that came out about two years ago
and he said that line "I think there's something still left in the
basement" I could relate to it and it inspired me.
Tom was a monster with the best known leg development ever.Even if the rumors are rue and he does come back, there is no way Tom could reach the peak of yester-year. However, he sure as hell would give the older Bodybuilders a run for their money!
