New NPC Rule Changes For 2003 |

At the Board of Governors meeting held in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, November 21, 2002, during the NPC National Championships, the following changes were approved for 2003.
BODYBUILDING Retroactive to 2001. The overall winner of the men's and women's Team Universe Bodybuilding Championships is permitted to petition the NPC for professional status in the IFBB. FIGURE All pro-qualifying NPC National Figure contests, (Junior USA, Junior National and National Figure Championships), will have four (4) height classes:
- Up to and including 5'2"
- Over 5'2" and up to and including 5'3"
- Over 5'3" and up to and including 5'5"
- Over 5'5"
These classes are optional for promoters at all other NPC Figure contests. BELOW NATIONAL-LEVEL EVENTS Figure contests with two (2) height classes will be:
- Up to and including 5'3"
- Over 5'3"
Figure contest with three (3) height classes will be:
- Up to and including 5'3"
- Over 5'3" and up to and including 5'5"
- Over 5'5"
NATIONAL-LEVEL EVENTS
At the national level, the following will be permitted to turn professional in the new IFBB Figure Division:
- The overall winner of the Junior USA Figure Championships.
- The winner of each height class, (4 classes) at the Junior National Figure Championships.
- The top three (3) in each of the four (4) height classes at the National Figure Championships, held in conjunction with the Team Universe Championships.
