1. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to diet - The last thing you want is come show time you feel you need more time to diet down. Talk about stress. Nothing worse than going on stage feeling "out of shape". Make sure you start out early enough where you can lose the amount of weight you need.

2. Practice your routine endlessly - When you get on stage, you may forget the routine you have done so many times flawlessly in front of your mirror in your bedroom. If you do, don't let anyone know, just keep going. No one knows what your routine really looks like except you. If you fudge up, just try to pick yourself back up and continue. No one will know you screwed up.

3. Practice your turns - Practice quarter turns to the point where you don't have to think about it. Again it's a different story when you on in front of an audience versus your mirror at home.

4. Prioritize - Don't miss meals or workouts ever! I know this is extreme, but it's true. He never missed a 4am cardio session in the 3 months of dieting before his show. Come the day of the show, if you know you did everything right and couldn't have done more, what more could you ask of yourself?

5. Seek assistance - If you have access to someone who can help you with your training and dieting, I think that will put you ahead of the game. It's hard enough to diet and train for a show. You don't want to have to guess at what you should be eating or how much you should be training. Having someone in your corner who can guide you in the right direction will be a huge stress reliever for you during your prep. Not to mention, they are also a great source of motivation for you.

6. Have fun - You have worked so many months and only have a few minutes to show it off. Have fun on stage. Of course competing has its stress, but overall, you don't want to look back and think of how stressful it was. So have some fun.
