Gladiator Academy, here we come.

"I check the posts maybe once a month just out of curiosity to see what the girls I step on stage with are doing to their bodies while I do it naturally.  Harsh statement, but true nonetheless."

Well, if harsh statements don't upset you, then keep reading.
The fact that some women in figure elect to use gear should be no concern of yours.  If you've stated emphatically, which you have, that you DO not use, then it should be irrelevant what the other competitors use as "aids;" be it thermogenics, thyroids, HGH, or gear.  If we have some of the women in figure using gear and some do not (remember there is free will here, and everyone has the absolute right to make the best choices regarding their bodies) then we do NOT have a level playing field, which you've deemed acceptable because you've ELECTED to compete in this sport knowing these facts. The fact that you do not use appearantly has no baring on your placings, and the fact that some of the figure women DO USE also has no baring on their placings. This is obvious because we have a smorgasboard of winners and "placers" - some displaying a softer look, while other women are harder with obvious separations.

"The fact of the matter is, I bust my butt."

And the other women don't?  This is presumptuous at best, and bordering on arrogance.  It is impossible to gauge how hard someone is striving to reach their goal, regardless of their sport, or which "aids" they use to reach their goal.  Women who take hydroxycut don't have any harder or easier time then women who take Triacana.

I've got news for you, Fitlonghorn.  I bust my butt, too.  The fact that I use does not detract from my total gym effort, nor any other BB, whether they are natural or not.  The implication in your statement is that "aids" make the ride easier, ergo the effort exerted is less. This couldn't be further from the truth.  I know many women in fitness who've never touched a thing, yet stay lean year round, genetics obviously playing a crucial role here.  Conversely, I know many fitness/BB women who do use and still have to bust their ass to get in contest shape, even with an ultra strict diet.  I happen to be one of those people.

"I refuse to do any steroids, thus I have limited myself as a bodybuilder and have had to move into the figure realm."

Well, we've already established that figure women use gear, so you've fallen into a slippery slope here.  If you ventured back into the bodybuilding camp, you'd be in the exact same situation. It's ironic that your switch to figure didn't "eliminate" your obstacle to compete in BB- which was to get away from women who obviously "use."  You will find natural and non natural athletes in ANY athletic endeavor- you cannot avoid it.

" With a bantam weight class, I could do bodybuilding and never have to take anything."

Huh?  Yes, this is true. You could compete as a Bantamweight bodybuilder. However, no one could guarantee you that you'd be competing against women who were not on steroids. Also, in earlier posts you've stated that you dropped out of bodybuilding because you didn't feel that you could be competitive with women in the lightweight division because of a weight discrepancy, i.e. you competing on the lower end of the lightweights, and women (assuming they are using gear,) on the higher end, closer to the 118 pound mark, on both the regional and national level.  Whether you competed in figure/fitness/bodybuilding, you'd be mixed in with women who are clean/drug free, and gear fiends.

"I'm proud of the fact that when  I look in the mirror, I can exclaim this is me and me only"

When I wake up in the morning, I can say the same thing.  Steroids are merely aids, training tools.  The only "taboo" with steriods is that they are illegal, which heretofore, before 1991, was not the case.  Make no mistake- if you train with anything other then H2O, food, weights, you ARE enhanced. It's just that your enhancements happen to be legal- at the PRESENT time (ephedra comes to mind.) Any thermogenic, thyroid, clenbuterol, vanadyl sulphate, creatine or any other aid, is an enhanced form of training.

I don't consider primobolan my "secret weapon," to bodybuilding success.  I don't consider my weight belt or wrist wraps my "leverage enablers" to move more weight, either.  They are training tools-nothing more.

"I surrest that you examine what you really want to accomplish, how badly you want to accomplish it, what methods you want/need to utilize in order to create those accomplishments."

Like any good artistic design, a building needs blueprints.  The key to fitness success, be it BB, fitness or figure, is to devise a plan that consists of sound nutrition, maximum effort in the gym, adequate sleep, good attitude, persisitence during plateaus, and the right combination of timing and goal setting.  If using gear happens to fall into the your "arsenal" of training tools, so be it.  If an athlete elects to train naturally, ditto.

But to falsely assume that gear makes an athlete's accomplishments less credible, is demeaning and absurd.  Everyone's fitness blueprint will be unique to their situation.  This "business plan" will be determined by a multitude of factors; genetics, diet, goals, training, choice or sport, etc.

Accomplishments are made up of an individual's sacrifices, sufferings and hopefully, reward. So, let the choice rest with the individuals in question, and keep the "roundtable" committee out of the discussion.

wow.  as are all of your posts that last posting was well reasoned and well articulated.

On so many levels.

It kinda goes back to the whole arrogance thing in your sig.
Let your body speak for itself right?  whatever you did or did not do to get it that way is an individual and personal CHOICE.
