On 6-7 may 2006 Thijs Althof, Aad Althof and Robbert-Jan van Heeckeren have done the longest work out ever in the bodybuilding-sport in Strada Sports Vorden (Netherlands). We have done a work out for over more than 24 hours !!!!!! and trained all bodyparts verry hard in the style of bodybuilding training! It was a big challange for us to train the longest work out ever and promote the sport in a positive way. (We start on 6 may on 12.00 and end on 7 may on 12.55)
 
The work out was like hell for us because a normal training is for an hour or two hours, but we going for this extreme record! For us was it no pain no gain !!!. The last year we had a special training, food and supplemantation-programm's and trained sometimes 5-6 times a week. Also we had special trainings for testing our programm's, extreem sessions from 4 a 5 hours !.

 

The attempt kost us 3 a 4 kg of bodyweight because it was a extreem training and it was warm weather in the Netherlands on 6-7 may (26 c). On the attempt we trained 2 a 3 muscle groups in an hour with sometimes extra cardio-sessions of 15-25 min. After 23 hours training !, i (Robbert-Jan) dith a set benchpress with 80 kg, when i would try a set with 100 kg, our coach say this is not human and forbid me to do the set, ha, ha
 
With the help of Leon Averdijk (coach), Peter Bartelds, Melle Steringa, Dennis Eijkelenkamp and our great sponsors/fans, we have bring a new record to our sport !. Also a special thanks to Julliette Bergman (former Miss Olympia), Liona Bergman, the NBBF andthe IFBB because they made it posible to settle this new worldrecord.

 

It feels great to be a worldrecordholder in our sport and help and promote our sport in a positive way. A lot of press made a an article over the attempt  and sunday (7th) a local televisionstation had every hour an item over the attempt.
 
After the record we had no muscle problems and after 3 a 4 days rest, we where back in trainig again. 10 days after the recordattempt we have won our mass (3 kg) back to eat a lot of protein and take Creatine and Glucosamine. Also we have a better shape on the legs !!!!
