Eclipsing the crowd with her grace and beauty, Cathy took the stage and kept it form everyone else. It was also great to see a fan favorite - Tazzy Columb - back on stage.
Congratulations to Cathy for a well deserved win!

At first there was no clear winner but through the day and into the nigh Evan Centopani moved his way to the top for the title. Some argued Markus Ruhl or Dennis James could have taken it. Others were unhappy with Hidetada Yamagishi's placing - but that's bodybuilding for ya!

High hopes for David "The Giant Killer" Henry were dashed to a water grave as his size could not overcome the film of water he carried. You should have heard the crowed BOO when David was called out for the third spot. However, the biggest surprise was Mark Dugdale - Bald and Rockin'! We could have easily seen him placed in front of Kevin English.
In this case, Kevin makes it Two in a Row for the NY Pro!

Going into the 2008 Olympia, that is not the word
combination any of us thought would have been uttered last night. We
were expecting things like, "Oh, Jay won again." Or, any combination
thereof, but hey, "Dexter won!"
Coming into the Olympia, all we
heard was how Jay was 100% on. Even Bob Chicerillo claimed this is the
best he has ever seen Jay. (Maybe Bob doesn't know much about
bodybuilding as he used to.) Jay had a lot to live up to especially
with last years controversial win. Going into this Olympia the
reverberations of what occurred last year could still be felt.

We were lucky enough to be allowed the opportunity to speak with and interview Daniel Stuckart - Trey Brewer's nutritionost.
In short, many folks thought Trey would not be able to lose the weight and compete at the 2008 Jr. Nationals. On the contrary, after 16 weeks of dieting, Trey's metabolism kicked into over drive and Daniel did everything he could do to keep Trey from losing too much weight.

It was no surprise to see Kai Green take the overall prize. Touted as a possible Crowned Olympia there should have been no excuse for Kai had he lost. His signature striated quads with the added mass separated the Men from the Boys.
As loosely quoted by Flex Wheeler, "Dan Salomon has Kai in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place!"

Well, they said it wouldn't happen. The Weider hype had everyone thinking the 'Gift' would sweep the Arnold Classic fresh from his win at the Los Angeles Ironman Pro.
Dexter proved them wrong.
2nd, 3rd, and 4th could have gone either way between Phil Heath, Kai Green and Branch Warren, but in the end, it was Dexter's muscle maturity and conditioning that carried him through the day.

Well, as stated an hour before the end of the Ms. International Bodybuilding Show, Yaxeni was given
the nod for first place. She was clearly in the best shape of her life,
with hamstrings that had the audience gasping in amazement.
I have NEVER seen so many women off their peak at any one show.
Check out my assessment or put your two cents in on the Mayhem Forums.
