Oklahoma Steroid Bust Nets Several Bodybuilders

TULSA, OK-- A big steroid bust leads to 10 arrest warrants. Investigators say when they began the investigation two years ago; they vastly underestimated how bad the problem of anabolic steroid abuse was in Oklahoma.

Wednesday's bust doesn't involve your average drug user. The accused are middle and upper class professionals. Some are accused of using steroids, others of selling or giving them away and agents say one man even ordered the raw ingredients from China to make his own.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Tulsa Police have been working the case, along with help from the Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. Marshals and other agencies.

Officers were directed to a job site, where they found Derrick Davis.

"Here's what's going to happen. You'll be booked into Tulsa County and there is a bond, so you can bond out," the arresting officer told Davis.

Documents show Davis ordered raw anabolic steroid compounds from China in order to make injectable steroids. They say when Davis realized his latest shipment had been seized by U.S. Customs; he had a friend hide all his steroid stuff at work, which police also recovered.
A nationally recognized competitive bodybuilder from Tulsa, Trudy Ireland-Kline was out of state and promised to surrender when she returns.

Documents show she admitted using steroids, but said she quit because they were causing heart problems.

"The abuses come when people flood their body with doses well beyond anything considered therapeutic," said "Tom" with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Agents say Tom Burke is a steroid dealer who admitted using steroids for 20 years, including to prepare for the 2008 Oklahoma Open bodybuilding competition.

He's a trainer at this Tulsa gym and records show he gave steroids to several people he trained. Agents say steroid abusers are in denial about the effects and side effects.

"They can see it in everyone else, but can't see the abuse in themselves," said "Tom" with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Brad Stahlheber was arrested at a Muskogee hospital where he works. Agents say he admitted buying steroids over the internet and using them for cosmetic reasons.

Dr. Gary Lee faces charges of writing more than 30 steroid prescriptions to a couple of competitive bodybuilders and a power hitter on a national softball team.

And, in Oklahoma City, Darrell Terrell, an amateur bodybuilder who's been featured in national magazines and city firefighter Sherry Smith, both face charges after a search of their home turned up steroids and syringes.

Agents tell The News On 6 the case is not over. It has taken them to the East Coast and federal charges are involved, but they can't talk about that yet because those indictments are currently sealed.

that won't last long. that division will be flooded with drugs too... whether recreational drugs or aas.

Well....she is still sweet ! No doubt about it ! I believe that nothing has been changed about her personality !
The sad thing is that she knew that she was doing something wrong and illegal but, she is not alone !! There are so many bodybuilders out there on the the same boat but, unfortunately, she was the one who got caught ! (so far !)
In the name of the "sport", they do whatever it takes to be competitve and now, that's the price that she had to pay !
In the end, it's not her fault !!

there is a study which showned that the light steroids users where better off then regular adult males. something like that
it definitely gave the superior tag to the steroid users and if i remember well where just as health or healthier

In practical terms, I'd say when abuse is when it's causing you health problems; in legal terms abuse is anything you don't have a doctor's prescription for.

We can debate until the cows come home whether it's a fitting use of police resources and public tax dollars for them to be chasing a bunch of guys trying to look good in the mirror, but unfortunately we don't get to pick and choose the laws of the land.

Sherry Smith is a very nice person, who is well liked and well regarded in the womens bodybuilding community. Therefore, I would expect little to be posted on this thread as opposed to other threads on this board.

However, given the nature of some of the past posts on this board, I would venture to suggest that if Iris Kyle had been busted instead of Sherry Smith, we would be seeing a multitude of extremely harsh and unforgiving posts on this thread.

Does anyone care to disagree?

IFBB professional bodybuilder Guy Ducasse has been indicted on federal steroid distribution and possession charges by a federal grand jury in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma. Guy Marc “Duke” Ducasse was arrested and charged with one count of “possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids”; four counts of “distribution of anabolic steroids”; and one count of “attempting to corrupt persuade another person with intent to hinder, delay, and prevent the communication to a law enforcement officer of information relating to the commission of a federal offense” (”Steroid inquiry nets at least 7 arrests,” April 17).

“This has been a far-reaching, complex investigation,” Woodward said in a release. “We have identified individuals from Oklahoma, as well as several other states involved in bringing steroids or components of the drug into the United States. The drugs are being manufactured and distributed within a growing circle of individuals tied to competitive body building.”

Federal prosecutors David O’Meilia and Janet Reincke alleges that IFBB pro Guy Ducasse made at least $18,014 between 2006 and April 8, 2008 from the sale of boldenone (Equipoise), dromostanolone (Masteron), methandrostenolone (Dianabol), nandrolone decanoate (Deca Durabolin), oxymetholone (Anadrol), oxandrolone (Anavar), Proviron, testosterone, testosterone enanthate and testosterone propionate.
Law enforcement officers with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control and the Tulsa Police Department Special Investigations Unit seized anabolic steroids and steroid paraphernalia from the home of Guy Ducasse on March 25, 2008. Ducasse shared the house with Coweta Police Officer Zachary Livingston and Jennifer Livingston. Agents confiscated testosterone, nandrolone decanoate, stanozolol and human growth hormone (HGH). Ducasse claimed to have prescriptions for all four medications. Agents obtained a search warrant after they discovered used syringes and needles and empty steroid vials in Ducasse’s trash (”Arrests expected in Tulsa steroids investigation,” April 19, 2008).

Also seized were e-mails to Ducasse “instructing him on bodybuilding drug use,” “handwritten notes regarding steroid cycles,” a “weekly steroid use schedule” and “7 pages of clients,” who are believed to be members of Sky Fitness & Wellbeing, 10121 S. Sheridan Road, according to the court records.

Guy Ducasse was charged with attempting to “corruptly persuade” James Henson from talking to a special agent with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. As a condition of his release on bail, Ducasse has been order to avoid contact with “James Henson or any person who the defendant knows is or may become a potential witness in the investigation of or prosecution of this case”.
IFBB pro Guy Ducasse is one of several competitive bodybuilders facing charges in the Oklahoma steroids in bodybuilding investigation. NPC bodybuilder Trudy Ireland-Kline, NPC bodybuilder Darrell Terrell, IFBB pro bodybuilder Sherry Smith, NPC bodybuilder Tom Burke, and NPC bodybuilder Chris Waid.
Chris Goodman, Derrick Davis, Dr. Brad Stahlheber and Dr. Gary Robert Lee are also facing steroid-related charges.
NPC bodybuilder Keith Koppenhaver was also implicated in the Oklahoma steroid investigation when steroids were seized from his home.
What is noteworthy about the two-year Oklahoma steroid investigation is that investigators are specifically targeting IFBB and NPC bodybuilders and the network of individuals tied to the sport of competitive bodybuilding.

At one point they try and blackmail him to get specific other pple he doesnt know to buy stuff from him or they`ll put it in the news something like that
Aswell when they went to the house Terrell and Smith are roommates, they just have a search warrant. they search the place then leave

and from what he says that mugshut is not real or something like that, its not clear

how can you respect such an authority?
how can you have faith in a system based on misinforming the pple and only applying logic when it pays the govt too, literally
