any updates on the big guy. he is one of the guys that got me into working out because of his 26inch biceps. i know he got in a bad car accident once.
i think i recall that he ate 6000-8000 calories a day with mostly carbs and moderate protiens and low fats.
any more info on his diet and trainin is appreciated

Dude, were you asleep for the last 8 years?
First of all his arms were slightly over 25", and they're not the biggest ever! (They may have been in 95-96, but not anymore)
Second, he tried to come back after the accident but never quite made it and quit.
And third, just type his name in GOOGLE and see what comes out, why would you rely on others for info?

Eat whatever you want, and inject lots of oil in your arms.

4) Ask Chris Clark (the originator of synthol) how he got those huge arms--if i remember right Chris told me Manfred had bought 16 bottles of synthol off of him back in the day

hhmm I don't know if Hoeberl put oil in his arms but there was definitely muscle on him as well.....the man had gigantic strenght!!!! I remember watching him in the worlds strongst man comp and he lost by very little to Magnus VerMagnusson (spelling).....his strenght was just unbelievable!!!!
He was also one of my first inspirations to go work out

So true.
Manfred was the first poster boy for Synthol.

A silly looking physique....lol! but he was'nt a bodybuilder he was a strongman competitor with arms full of synthol just like that Valentino guy but Manfred also competed in some type of sport and used his 'silly' looking arms to help gain some popularity e.t.c.. Not my cup of tea I'd rather see nice looking physiques like a early 90's Flex Wheeler that are strong, fit and functional!

?!?!?!?!?
Manfred lost the 1994 Worlds Strongest Man I think it was by a few fractions of a second. He may have had synthol in his arms but he also had ridiculous strength, ALOT more than Flex Wheeler so I think he fits the "strong" and "functional" criteria.

Yes..he did come close in the 94 strongest man you are right there.. Just dont understand the need to inject synthol for strongman purposes if that is your chosen sport..its about being strong and able to move well e.t.c.. I think carrying around those arms full of oil would cause a problem with some of the events, so why would he ever do that i dont know..lol but hey its his body.. I just rather see real muscle that looks good.

ya he had synthol in his arms, but even without them they would have been huge. He could curl over 300 lbs for reps and was giving curling demonstrations all over Europe. It wasn't for show, that guy was a SUPER STRONG mofo. Manfred looked Paul Dillet(ish) He was huge. His delts were huge. His back was massive, and super wide. His legs weren't that big, but I respect him more then the bodybuilders, that's for sure. He lost in the final event of the world's strongest man one year by a second to magnus on the stones. Manfred had great cardio, was very fast and had super strength. His car accident was very severe and when he tried to make a comeback, his body started tearing (bicep, shoulder).
Why laugh at Manfred for synthol when others like Flex used it on his arms? Manfred added a 2 or 3 inches on his arms with synthol. Valentino added 10 inches. Big difference. Bodybuilders are full of synthol. Milos said there are about a hundred injection sites in the body where he used to inject.
Manfred only puffed up his arms to be marketable and get endorsements. For all the ball busting training they do, these guys don't get much financial rewards. There are better pictures of him that show how huge the rest of him was.

Funny how Chris denied in interviews that he knew Manfred or had sold Synthol to him.
Of course he had to deny it publically,I'm just surprised he told you.

Oh,ok.So it wasn't "off the record" then?Hmm...because I remember him denying any connection to Hoeberl in some other interview.
